    On Megalex, the city-planet, the laws of nature are prohibited. The tyrannical order reigns over a renewed population controlled by genetic manipulation. Due to the repeated attacks of the neighboring forest, primitive and impenetrable, the urbanized system in command allowed an 'anomaly,' a clone policeman nearly 10 ft tall, to escape.     Megalex? Un cauchemar d'urbaniste ou un rêve de dictateur, au choix. Une cité-planète grise et rectiligne qui s'étend à perte de vue. Dans cet univers régi par un ordre tyrannique, les citoyens asservis sont dotés d'un implant qui détermine leur "espace-vie". Mais un jour, la machine se dérègle. Une anomalie survient, sous la forme comique d'un clone policier à la taille anormalement grande... Le scénario est signé Alexandro Jodorowsky, auteur inspiré et inépuisable façonneur d'univers, de L'Incal à La Caste des Méta-Barons, de Juan Solo aux Technopères. Ecrit à l'origine pour Otomo, le créateur d'Akira, Megalex a finalement été confié à Fred Beltran, jeune dessinateur féru d'informatique. Beltran a conçu ses images sur son ordinateur, modelant objets et décors en trois dimensions, choisissant les angles de vision les plus efficaces à la manière d'un chef opérateur de cinéma. Résultat : une synthèse parfaite entre le réalisme époustouflant permis par l'informatique et la magie pure du dessin. Etonnant. --Gilbert Jacques
